Taiwan Design Research Institute is awarded the 4th Presidential Innovation Award. The glory goes to all of our partners!

The Presidential Innovation Award was established to commend individuals or groups who have achieved innovation in the diverse fields of product, technology, management, service, or culture that contributes to the country’s economic development. It was a tremendous honor for TDRI and the design industry to receive this year’s Presidential Innovation Award.

The submission periods for the 2020 Golden Pin Design Award and Golden Pin Concept Design Award are drawing to a close. The two awards highlight 12 exciting entries to promote the awards’ final Call for Entries this year, which will both close in early July.

For this year’s awards, the organizer has assembled an impressive 85-person jury—the largest yet—of leading international designers and experts in a variety of fields from fifteen different countries and regions. The 2020 Golden Pin Design Award’s call for entries ends on July 9th (Thu.) at 17:00 (GMT+8 Taipei). The organizer cordially invites designers from around the globe to take up the challenge!

This year, design industry experts from over fifteen countries and regions will participate in the Preliminary, Secondary, and Final Selections for the two awards. Early-bird registration for the 2020 Golden Pin Design Award ends on Monday, June 1st, at 23:59 (GMT+8).

The 2020 Golden Pin Design Award is now accepting submissions worldwide until Thursday, July 9. Works that have already been commercialized and sold on the market are eligible to enter and may be submitted by either the manufacturer or the design team. An early registration discount is available on and before Thursday, April 30.

The brand of TPE-HUN Shuttle Bus is comprehensively built through subtraction design, toppling the public’s stereotype of public transit, and reinterpreting Taiwan’s public transport.

With assistance from the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and in partnership with the Design and Creative Center Kobe, TDC is building an initiative that rethinks disaster prevention through design.

In order to deepen cultural exchange between Taiwan and Indonesia and establish a Southeast Asian Design Alliance, the Taiwan Design Center and Indonesian Economic and Trade Office (IETO) are joining forces.

The evening kicked off with an inspiring video that showed how design thinking can solve the problems facing everyone around the globe today. Many winners also responded to the theme, expressing their expectations as designers.
