The 2024 Golden Pin Design Award held its secondary selection on September 2nd at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei, and the winners have now been announced!

Spain’s rich heritage and innovative spirit indisputably make it a great power in the global design and art worlds. TDRI has specially invited the renowned design team OdosDesign from Valencia, Spain, along with co-founder Ana Segovia, to curate six themed exhibitions, intertwining them to portray the essence and spirit of contemporary Spanish design.

The world’s largest graduation exhibition for design students, the “Young Designers’ Exhibition (YODEX),” celebrated its 43rd edition from May 24 to 27 at the Nangang Exhibition Center! The event featured approximately 3,500 works from 10,000 design students across 116 departments from 55 Taiwanese schools. YODEX showcases the talent of young Taiwanese designers and the diverse values brought by design.

The 2024 Golden Pin Design Award and Golden Pin Concept Design Award have announced their complete jury lineup today. The deadline for submissions to the 2024 Golden Pin Design Award is approaching fast. Entries will be accepted until 5 PM Taipei time (GMT+8) on Wednesday, June 26th. To foster design exchange between Taiwan and the Philippines and promote objectives such as circular design, the Taiwan Design Research Institute, embarked on an international exchange event in the Philippines this June.

The 2024 Golden Pin Design Award is set to culminate its annual tour across Asia with the much-anticipated “Design Perspectives × Golden Pin Salon” event, returning to Taipei for a grand finale. This year’s Taipei session will be held on June 1st at the “Not Just Library” in the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park.

Following successful events in Shanghai and Shenzhen in April, the salon is now set for its next stops in Kuala Lumpur on May 14th and Bangkok on May 16th. Both salons will offer a blend of local offline events and engaging online live streaming sessions. Registration is now open, inviting enthusiasts and professionals alike to join this enriching experience!

Registration is open until June 26th, with an early bird discount available for those who register by June 7th. Entries are accepted for commercially available products or designs, as well as completed and operational spatial or integrated design works. Designers and companies worldwide are welcome to participate in, showcasing their design creativity and innovative capabilities alongside international talents.

On display at the first Taiwan Pavilion in Milan, fifteen Taiwanese studios and brands are confronting global issues from the point of view of local material culture and reflections. Through their projects, they examine the role of design in contemporary society and the value of design thinking in asking questions correctly. The questions, in fact, are designed in Taiwan.

Through a blueprint for service innovation and cross-disciplinary cooperation, Taipower has fundamentally transformed its service locations. On March 7th, Taipower and the TDRI unveiled the fruits of their collaborative efforts at the Keelung Branch Service Center, showcasing how design drives public service innovation!
