The awards ceremony took place today (May 5) at Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1. The eight winners of the highly anticipated “Best Design of Young Pin Design Award” were announced by representatives of the juries from the eight respective award categories.

This year, the participation rate was very high, with 6,315 works from 137 departments at 65 schools submitted for contention. Of that number, 822 works were selected as finalists and will vie for the “Best of Young Pin Design Award” and other awards.

For the first time, it has assembled 49 designers, media people, and market trend experts from various fields to serve as the jury. They will identify the next generation of design talents in Taiwan.

To encourage students to associate their design creativity with social issues, the new category of “Social Design” was added this year.

The Young Pin Design Award 2018 Exhibition is jointly organized by the Taiwan Design Museum and the Young Pin Design Award, to present the shortlisted artists with the Best of Young Pin Design Award.
