Taiwan Design Research Institute 2026 Winter Internship Program Now Open for Applications!
We welcome students from domestic and international colleges and universities to experience workplace life, explore future career directions, gain self-awareness, and plan for their future. We encourage those passionate about design research to join TDRI.
TDRI provides diverse internship opportunities. Based on project needs, mentors will be assigned to support interns’ work, learning, and development. Interns may also have opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary projects in collaboration with TDRI and other enterprises.
●Eligibility:Students currently enrolled in undergraduate, master's, or doctoral programs at domestic or international colleges and universities.
●Internship Details and Regulations:
I. Number of Interns: Approximately 14–16 interns.
II. Internship Categories:
A. Design Research Category – Assigned Departments & Key Responsibilities
(A) Strategic Foresight Research & Development Section :

Taiwan Industrial Design Capacity / AI & Design Policy:
(1)Collecting forward-looking case studies on Taiwan’s industrial design capacity and AI & design policies; conducting literature reviews.
(2)Project research on Taiwan’s industrial design capacity and advanced case analysis of design policy.(3)Preliminary collection, selection, and model building of evaluation indicators for design-driven enterprise innovation impact; research on industrial AI transformation trends(4)Final compilation of internship outcomes (including research findings on Taiwan’s industrial design capacity, design policy case studies, and design-driven enterprise innovation impact). - Urban Design Capacity / Urban Governance / Exhibition Curation(1) Initial collection, advanced analysis, and literature review of cases related to urban design capacity and urban governance.(2) Project research on urban design capacity, preliminary research for Taoyuan Design Expo curation, and studies on public governance guidelines.(3) Final compilation of internship outcomes (including research findings on urban design capacity, curation content research for the Design Expo, and guideline research results).

(A)International Development Section:

- DIT Community: Feedback on community operations, post planning and ideation, content execution, theme proposals/filming, and performance review discussions.
- Creative Expo Taiwan: Assisting with call-for-entry documentation, recruitment and planning of participating companies, and expo-related operations.

(B)Industry & Innovation Section:
Design industry-academia collaboration: Research on enterprise innovation capacity, co-planning for the Next Generation Design Exhibition, and collaboration on mechanisms of industry-academia cooperation.
(C)Industry Foresight Section:
Sustainable design, AI application development, service processes, and business models.
(D) Planning Section:
Assist with tasks related to IDDI.
C. Public Service Category – Assigned Departments & Key Responsibilities:
Public service project research, design verification, and practical engagement.
(B) Local Innovation Section:
Research on the host city for the 2027 Taiwan Design Expo, T22 community marketing planning, and Taipei Fashion Week community marketing.
(C) Operations & Promotion Section:

- Supporting interviews for Taiwan Design Museum projects.
- Assisting with space arrangement and display adjustments for the Not Just Library.
- Assisting with Design Store: providing product selection recommendations.

●Internship Duration: January 12, 2026 – February 13, 2026 (approximately 1 month, full-time).8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Extensions may be arranged depending on departmental or student needs (e.g., research projects, thesis work).
●Internship Allowance & Insurance:(Subject to labor insurance deductions)
I. Undergraduate students: NT$29,000 per month
II. Master’s students: NT$35,000 per month
III. Doctoral students: NT$39,000 per month
●Application Process
I. Application Deadline: Until October 31, 2025 (Friday) (subject to change depending on actual circumstances)
II. Application Method: Submit your application via TDRI’s job page on the 104 Job Bank website. Required documents include:
A. Personal photo
B. Autobiography (please state at the beginning):
(A)Current year of study: Undergraduate ○ year / Master’s ○ year / Doctoral ○ year
(B)Ability to participate in the full internship: “Yes” or “No”
(C)Available internship period: January ○, 2026 – February ○, 2026
C. Portfolio (no restriction on pages or format)
D. Student ID or proof of enrollment (must be valid during internship period; applications without proof will not be accepted)
E. International students: Passport, Alien Resident Certificate, and work permit issued by the Ministry of Labor, Taiwan
III. Interview Notification: Shortlisted candidates will be notified for an online interview (scheduled for mid-to-late November 2025).
IV. Accepted interns will be assigned based on their application preferences and departmental needs.
V. Additional legal requirements for international students will be handled separately.
●Internship Regulations
I. Internship runs from January 12, 2026 – February 13, 2026, with possible extensions depending on departmental and student needs.
II. Interns must submit a final internship report before completion and publish it on YouTube, Medium, or Matters (choose one).
III. Interns must comply with TDRI regulations; unexcused absences are not permitted.
IV. If an intern must terminate the internship early, a formal request must be submitted to TDRI.
