To enhance patient convenience and peace of mind, TDRI has been in collaboration with the Hospital and Social Welfare Organizations Administration Commission, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Taipei Hospital, introducing a design-driven service innovation project. The two parties jointly announced today (Oct. 20) the results of the signage optimization project.

Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI), in partnership with the Hospital and Social Welfare Organizations Administration Commission,  Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Taipei Hospital, has developed a set of signage system design guidelines applicable to medical institutions under the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The renovation of Beidou Township Health Center and the Ageless Gym in Changhua County is a vivid example of human-centered design within the Design Movement for Public, a national project led by the Taiwan Design Research Institute that promotes design-led improvements in public spaces.

Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI) and the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) have jointly launched two initiatives — the “Changhua Station Micro-Renovation” and the “Industrial Landscape Renewal of the National Monument Roundhouse.”

Project underwent months of design and construction before emerging in its renewed form. Inspired by the imagery of clouds, the design integrates natural landscape and inclusive play principles, connecting the mountain and plain through imagination and play. The result is central Taiwan’s first “sky-themed” all-age park.

The third edition of Taiwan Design Week (TDW) takes place from 29 November to 7 December 2025 at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei, under the theme “Design Next.” This year, TDW looks at how design is changing—from focusing on the individual to caring for humanity and even the planet.

Following the Final Selection, 90 entries were shortlisted from among 429 Design Mark recipients for the Golden Pin Design Award, while 6 creative proposals emerged as finalists for the Golden Pin Concept Design Award. The highly anticipated winners will be revealed at the Award Ceremony on December 5 in Taipei.

This year’s Design Mark recipients highlight remarkable diversity—from the transformation of retired railway trains, to Mandarin learning picture books and CSR initiatives inspired by forestry workers’ experiences—showcasing the impact of design across cultural heritage, education, and industrial innovation. The shortlist for the “Best Design” will be announced soon—stay tuned!

Creative EXPO Taiwan 2025 officially concluded on August 11, setting new records in both attendance and participation. This year’s EXPO welcomed a total of 650,000 visitors, and the business showcase generated NT$1.35 billion in trade value, representing a 12.5% increase from last year’s NT$1.2 billion.

The competition theme of this year is “Intelligence．Sustainability．Joyful Living.” With these three values, IBDC is looking for creative concepts and design works centered around cycling that integrate intelligent technologies, sustainable considerations, and joyful everyday experiences.
