2027 Taiwan Design Research Institute Winter Internship Program Now Open!
Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI) welcomes students from universities and colleges in Taiwan and abroad to experience workplace learning, explore future career directions, better understand themselves, and develop new aspirations and plans for the future. We also hope to inspire talented individuals interested in design research to join TDRI.
TDRI offers internship opportunities across a diverse range of fields. Based on project needs, interns may be paired with learning buddies to support their workplace learning and professional development, and may also have opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary internship projects in collaboration with other organizations and companies.
●Eligibility: Current undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students enrolled in universities or colleges in Taiwan or abroad.
●Internship Details:
I. Number of Interns: Approximately 15 interns.
II. Internship Categories:
A. Design Research Category – Assigned Departments & Key Responsibilities
(A) Design Research & Development Section:
1. Research international trends in AI × Design. 2. Support the development of design industry databases. 3. Support the development of design task Agents. 4. Conduct user research and testing for AI tools.
B. Industry Development Category – Assigned Departments & Key Responsibilities
(A) International Development Section:
Support interdisciplinary projects and Taiwan Creative Expo.
(B) Industry Innovation Section:
1. Support the implementation of the 13th Young Designers' Exhibition Industry–Academia Collaboration Project, including preparation of midterm review meeting materials (posters, sign-in sheets, administrative documents, etc. ) and organization of exhibition narrative materials for participating enterprises.2. Conduct research and develop thematic narratives for the 14th Young Designers' Exhibition Industry–Academia Collaboration Project, as well as prepare materials for the project briefing session (posters, sign-in sheets, administrative documents, etc. ). 3. Support other project-related tasks and additional assignments as needed.
(C) Industry Foresight Section:
Support projects related to sustainability and circular design, user experience, design research, and other relevant areas.
(D) Integrated Planning Section:
Support IDDI communications and promotional planning, collect data for outcome and effectiveness surveys, and compile design company directories. (Internship Location: TDRI Xinyi Office – 3F. , No. 41, Sec. 3, Xinyi Rd. , Da'an Dist. , Taipei City. )
C. Public Service Category – Assigned Departments & Key Responsibilities
(A) Public Service Section: Support public service research and participate in related practical projects.
(B) Humanities Innovation Section:
1. Assist with research and data analysis for public space projects, including campus environments.
2. Support the implementation of the New Dormitory Movement Exhibition.
(C) Operations & Promotion Section:
1. Support the operation of the Design Museum and Design Library, as well as social media promotion.2. Participate in planning a new picture book for the Design Hide-and-Seek Children's Summer Camp, educational material research, and cross-industry collaboration planning.3. Support Taiwan Fashion Week AW27 operations and social media promotion.
*Actual internship duties may be adjusted according to the needs of each department and will be updated periodically.

III. Internship Allowance and Insurance (labor insurance premiums will be deducted separately):
A. Undergraduate Students: NT$30,000 per month.
B. Master's Students: NT$36,000 per month.
C. Doctoral Students: NT$40,000 per month.
●Application Process:
I. Application Period: From now until Friday, October 30, 2026. The deadline may be adjusted as needed.
II. How to Apply: Please apply through TDRI's 104 Job Bank page and provide:

(B) Full-period availability: Yes / No.
(C) Available internship period: January ○ – February ○, 2027.
C. Portfolio (online link preferred).
D. Student ID or proof of enrollment. Applicants must maintain student status throughout the internship.
E. International students enrolled in universities or colleges in Taiwan must also provide a copy of their passport, Alien Resident Certificate (ARC), and a valid work permit issued by the Ministry of Labor. Any additional requirements under applicable laws and regulations will be handled separately.
III. Preliminary screening results will be announced via 104 by mid-November 2026. Qualified applicants will be invited to an online interview in mid to late November.
IV. Successful applicants will be assigned based on their selected category and departmental needs.
●Internship Schedule and Regulations:
I. Internship Period: January 11 – February 19, 2027, 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week (excluding the Lunar New Year holiday). The internship period may be extended based on the needs of individual interns and assigned departments (e. g. , research projects or thesis requirements).
II. Interns must submit an internship reflection report and publish it on YouTube, Medium, or Matters before completing the internship.
III. Interns must comply with TDRI regulations and maintain regular attendance.
IV. Early termination must be requested in advance.
