The internationally renowned Red Dot Design Award Exhibition – “Contemporary Taiwanese Design” will be grandly presented at the Taiwan Design Museum, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, from September 16 to November 16, 2025.

 

Based on the Red Dot Design Award’s core mission “In search of good design and creativity”, the exhibition features this year’s award-winning works from Taiwan. A total of 177 works will be showcased, including 46 physical pieces and 131 digital projects, spanning product design, brand communication, and design concepts. Together, these works comprehensively highlight Taiwan’s innovative energy and industrial capabilities.

 

The exhibition is jointly organized by Red Dot GmbH & Co. KG and the Industrial Development Administration under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and executed by the Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI) with curatorial planning by SHIANG DESIGN, the exhibition is curated under the theme of “Honor.” Through spatial flow and visual narrative, visitors will experience the glory and breakthroughs of Taiwanese designers. The exhibition also seeks to inspire imagination and aspiration for design, deepening the dialogue between design and daily life. With works spanning computer components, home appliances, industrial processes, and digital technology, the exhibition demonstrates how Taiwanese design continues to respond to global markets and cultural demands with forward-looking vision.

 

 

 

 

Three Competitions, One Vision

 

A special section, “Red Dot Design Award: The Trajectory of Design”, reviews the international design evaluation system Red Dot has continuously built since the 1950s. The exhibition space is divided into three zones, echoing Red Dot’s three core competitions: Product Design, Brands & Communication Design, and Design Concept. Together, they embody the vision of “Promoting excellence in design and creativity.” This section not only illustrates how Red Dot has shaped global design paradigms, but also highlights how Taiwanese designers have repeatedly gained international recognition and continue to shine on the world stage.

 

 

 

 

The Global Language of Design – Driving Innovation and Industry

 

As one of the world’s highest honors in the field of design, the Red Dot Design Award has long served as a benchmark of professional excellence, providing internationally recognized evaluation standards that guide global industrial development. Beyond celebrating creativity, the award underscores the role of design in industrial upgrading and cultural advancement. For Taiwan, Red Dot has been a vital platform in propelling its design power onto the global stage. Many Taiwanese designers and brands have leveraged the award’s recognition to expand into international markets and increase visibility. The exhibition “Contemporary Taiwanese Design Awarded by Red Dot” is not only a design showcase but also a bridge connecting Taiwan with the world. Featuring award-winning works as its medium, the exhibition allows audiences to experience how design demonstrates its power in diverse aspects of daily life, while reflecting Taiwan’s multidimensional innovation across technology, industry, and culture.

 

Highlight exhibits include ADATA’s LANCER CUDIMM RGB DDR5 Memory, ASUS’s Zenbook A14 (UX3407), and Garmin’s Premium multisport GPS smartwatch, each presenting excellence in gaming aesthetics, mobile computing, and smart wearables. Together, they exemplify Taiwan’s innovative strength on the global design stage. Through this exhibition, Taiwanese designers’ works engage in dialogue with the international design community, sparking more cross-disciplinary collaboration and creative exchange. It not only invites the general public to step into the world of design but also enables design professionals, international media, and audiences from all fields to witness Taiwan’s global vision and future potential in design.
